Bring your unique musical talents and interests and let's create an amazing band! All wind instruments, string instruments, vocals, piano and percussion wanted! We will study a variety of musical styles including jazz, pop, rock, classical, film, show, and multicultural music. While learning how to play their music, students learn proper instrument/vocal technique, individually enhance their skills and learn music theory/reading. There are multiple performance opportunities each school year.
Students choose an instrument out of flute, clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, violin, viola, cello or bass. Once students have their basics down, they join our jazz band! Students learn to perform as a group, read music, understand music theory and learn the fundamentals of being a musician! There are multiple performance opportunities each school year.
Students learn a variety of percussion instruments including snare drum, accessory and novelty percussion, bucket drums, boom whackers and xylophone. Students explore piano, singing, rhythm games, dance, music reading and more in this class catered to our young students between the ages of 5-8 years old. A very fun and interactive class aimed to inspire our youngest students. Multiple performance opportunities every school year!
Students explore piano, singing, rhythm games, dance, music reading and more in this class which is meant for students who like variety. Each week will be a little different and instruments will be provided on site for students. If requested, St. Paul volunteers will provide a brown bag lunch for students after class. Other services may be provided for caregivers while students are in class.
